Description:

The project area of Pekan Meru is part of two catchment; Sg Kapar Besar and Sg Kapar kecil catchment. With total area of 11.724 km2, the project  area is fully developed where most of the landuse is occupied by residential and commercial activities.  Main causes of local flood at Pekan Meru are due to the increase of surface runoff, high water level during high tide and insufficient existing drainage system. Besides that, there are many undersize culvert and utility crossing that prevent water flow. There are several issues and problems related to the stormwater quantity management due to the rapid development and increased of impervious surface at the project area.
