Description:

The Department of Irrigation & Drainage (Jabatan Pengairan & Saliran, JPS) requires the engineering consultancy services for the Formal Safety Inspection of Batu Dam, Selangor. Batu Dam is a flood control and water supply dam constructed under the Kuala Lumpur Flood Mitigation Project. Its construction was completed in 1987.

The dam is located immediately downstream of the confluence of Sungai Batu and Sungai Tua which is about 16 km upstream of the city center of Kuala Lumpur. Currently, Puncak Niaga is abstracting water directly from the dam for domestic and industrial water supply to some parts of Kuala Lumpur.
